The Product & Engineering department is responsible for all of VMG's products, both consumer facing, like the VICE.com or Refinery29.com platforms, and internal operations and content creation tools, like our proprietary CMS 'Backstage', 'Stories Studio' our proprietary social stories production app for editors, and more.

Role x You

VICE Media is seeking a talented & experienced App Product Manager to lead in the development of the company's mobile and OTT applications. They will work closely with teams across the organization to maintain the existing VICE apps in addition to developing POCs and entirely new products from the ground up.

Key responsibilities include:
• Help define the product vision, strategy and roadmap of one or more VICE apps
• Help define and monitor KPIs using analytics and audience feedback
• Help define and own OKRs for the App team
• Act as Product Owner for the Scrum team and ensure priorities are understood
• Write stories, identify & write up bug tickets, smooth out friction points
• Work with stakeholders (UX/Design team, User Research, Editorial, Product Design, etc.) to gather and define requirements and develop mockups
• Work with stakeholders across the organization to align priorities and their delivery
• Work with Product Design on POCs and experimental projects
• Collaborate with engineers, the platform team and other teams to ship new features and address existing issues
• Listen to audience feedback and respond accordingly
• Manage and improve upon processes
• Identify key areas where best practices are not being followed, and correct them

What we are looking for:
• 3+ years experience as product manager for mobile and/or OTT apps
• Demonstrated success shipping at least one public-facing mobile and/or OTT apps
• Strong understanding of how mobile and OTT apps deliver value in a media organization
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Experience with analytics tools such as GA and Amplitude
• Experience with Scrum, being a Product Owner and managing high-performing teams
• Familiarity with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines or Google's Android Design Principles and interface guidelines and general best practices
• Deeply passionate about design and user experience
• Focus and attention to detail in written and verbal communication
• Strong sense of product ownership and team building
• Keen eye for detail and what users value
• Strong interpersonal skills

We'd love if you also had these:
• Experience managing TVE OTT apps (tvOS, Roku, Android TV, Samsung SmartTV, etc.)
• Experience delivering DTC products or experiences
• Familiarity with digital media organizations
• Certified Scrum Product Owner
