Product Manager, Consumer Products

We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Manager to join VICE Media Group's Product Team. The successful candidate will play an integral part in the evolution of VMG's consumer products across VICE, Refinery29 and i-D. We are looking for someone to help create the vision, develop the roadmap and lead execution for content products that have subscription or transactional revenue at their core.

We are looking for someone ready to tackle anything, who is willing to learn and eager to grow within their role, and has an experimental/analytical mindset to guide business decision making and project success. This person will work hand-in-hand with the Associate Director of Product, as well as our in-house product design and engineering teams to handle day-to-day operations as well as executing on the long term product roadmap.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Associate Director of Product in defining and prioritizing the product roadmap with the overarching goals of increasing loyalty and revenue
• Work closely with product and editorial key stakeholders to evaluate new direct-to consumer opportunities.
• Develop a deep, empathetic understanding of user needs in a number of content verticals, in order to create new products
• Ensure organizational support and buy-in and gather requirements, prioritize features and translate strategies and concepts into a backlog for upcoming product initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with editorial, product design and audience development to push forward a number of cross-platform DTC experiments that build on each other's success.
• Write detailed user stories and work closely with the engineering and design teams to deliver functional solutions according to a release schedule
• Define, communicate, test and track metrics for success
• Track best practices and new ideas taking place externally in the media space and apply them to your product plans
• Create and maintain product documentation for internal and external users

Requirements

You have:
• 3+ years of relevant work in Product Management for consumer digital products
• Understanding and passion for new developments in digital media
• A successful track record in product management experience, strong user experience and technical sensibilities
• Data proficiency and familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics (if you know SQL,
• that's a plus!) to set goals, understand user behavior, and inform decisions
• A process to size business opportunities and have a scrappy attitude for getting impactful work done quickly
• Solid project management skills and ability to think outside of the box to meet deadlines
• A proven record of holding team members and yourself accountable for initiated projects all the way from conception and execution to reporting and analysis

Bonus skills:
• Experience with direct to consumer offering such as paid subscription products
• Experience with GDPR, CCPA and other privacy legal requirements
