VICE Media is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the day to day functions of the payroll processes for EMEA and APAC. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Workday, Time Tracking and Absence Management modules and ADP Celergo payroll. The position will be responsible for supporting one pay cycle paying approximately 500 people.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Primary resource for processing monthly payroll for up to 500 employees in multiple countries in EMEA (except UK) and APAC
• Support resource for processing monthly payroll for up to 400 employees in UK
• Work with our outsourced payroll provider ensuring all information is received/processed in a timely manner
• Ensure Payroll Compliance (Payroll Taxes, Benefits Tax and Statutory Audits)
• Review timesheets, wage computation and other information to detect and reconcile any payroll discrepancies
• Coordinate data entry and information updates/changes in payroll processing system in conjunction with Payroll/HR teams
• Verify attendance, hours worked and pay adjustments and post information onto designated records
• Issue and record adjustments to pay, related to errors or retroactive increases
• Enter and maintain employees garnishments and update tax exemptions status upon request
• Directly assist employees and partners in all payroll related issues through ticketing system
• Audit payroll using Workday reports and work to implement additional reports to improve the payroll process and accuracy
• Assist in any upgrades or enhancement testing with HR, HRIS, Benefits or other business partners
Qualifications
• Comprehensive understanding of payroll processes and best practices, and ability to demonstrate effective application of that knowledge
• Experience with Workday and ADP Celergo preferred
• Detail oriented
• Understanding of payroll entries, and how they affect ledger accounts
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office programs. Specific Excel experience should include creating and manipulating pivot tables and vlookups at a minimum.
• Knowledge of HR/Payroll systems, Time and Attendance systems and reporting tools
• Communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees
• Extreme level of confidentiality
