The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the day to day operations of a full cycle AP department, managing vendor relationships and maintaining strong communication and rapport with internal and external departments. The perfect candidate will come from a similar size, high volume department with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with both collaborative and hands-on efforts. The roles will be based in our Brooklyn NY and London offices and will report to the Associate Director, Accounts Payable North America.

Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage day-to-day Accounts Payable activity for 3 staff members
• Prepare check run report for management of weekly payment disbursements, escalations, initiating of EFT batch files and creation of wire templates
• Maintain weekly bank reconciliation log for Refinery29 North America operating accounts and assist with Vice operating accounts for month-end close
• Payment resolution and research for stale dated checks, check stop payments and ACH return files
• Resolve payment inquiries for escalated issues
• Act as the ''face'' of the Accounts Payable team and exhibit a high degree of customer service for internal ''customers / business partners'' across the organization. Acts as the focal point for any performance issues / challenges that are escalated for resolution both within Vice and external suppliers.
• Builds productive customer relationships with all the key stakeholders / customers of AP across the Vice organization to promote and deliver a high level of proactive service to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Reconcile monthly critical accounts (rent, utilities, tax and settlements) for accuracy and cashflow purposes
• Review monthly operational bills for accuracy on GL coding and PIDs and liaison with Accounting for balance sheet accounts as needed (inter-company, prepaid and fixed assets)
• Vendor maintenance/update oversight, ensuring proper documentation is on file for changes and proper syncing of data
• Provide Coupa and Netsuite training to internal AP staff and assist with training to external departments where needed
• 1099 reporting and maintenance of vendor data
• AP Aging reporting and reconciliations
• Assist with system integrations for AP procurement software and ERP
• Participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
• Experience in the Media industry, while not required, is preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with focus on accounts payable, including a minimum of 3 years managing a team in similar size company
• Knowledge of Concur and NetSuite experience required. COUPA software is a plus.
• Solid understanding of process and data workflows
• Superior communication skills (written / verbal) including a proven ability to engage with senior executives (both within Finance as well as more broadly within the organization)
• Demonstrated understanding and acceptance for responsibility of confidentiality.
• Strong organizational / time management skills
• Demonstrated management, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel and analysis skills
• Organized, reliable, detail-orientated, hands-on, proactive and responsive
