Role x You
Vice is seeking a Tax Director to join its Tax team, reporting to the Global Controller. Key responsibilities include US direct and indirect tax compliance, preparing the worldwide tax provision, overseeing non-US tax matters (VAT, CIT, and WHT), and liaise with internal teams as well as various outside consultants on a number of moving tax projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Own the quarterly and annual tax provision process and related tax journal entries in accordance with ASC 740 for the preparation of the Company's US GAAP financial statements
• Responsible for review and timely filing of domestic (including state and local) and international tax return compliance
• Oversee, coordinate with, and manage the Company's 3rd party tax providers ensuring that all tax related issues are identified, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner
• Manage transfer pricing analysis, intercompany agreements, and documentation process
• Responsible for indirect tax compliance obligations including sales and use, city and business tax and other regulatory returns
• Manage and monitor various tax incentive programs and applications for tax credits/tax refund claims
• Responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and state and local filings, including gathering information, and assembling responses to auditor inquiries
• Liaise with Accounting, Legal, Human Resources and Business Operation teams on tax-driven business initiatives, acquisitions, significant transactions, etc.
• Independently research tax related topics, including federal, state, and international tax developments and laws that impact the Company
• Assist with departmental operational matters (tax technology, tax notices, and tax budget reconciliations)
Qualifications
You have these:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Master's in Taxation or Accounting preferred
• 8 - 10 years of relevant tax experience with time spent in a public accounting firm preferred
• A deep understanding of US income and indirect tax matters
• Exposure to US international tax regulations as well as experience in non-US tax matters
• Detail-oriented, organized, and process-driven
• Strong communication and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple deliverables
• Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills
