Role x You
The Director of Marketing will support the VICE Media Group with strategic marketing initiatives across the company which includes VICE, VICE News, Refinery29, i-D, VIRTUE, VICE Studios, Pulse Films, and VICE TV. The initiatives will live across platforms spanning from TV, to digital, to social and experiential (virtually and in-person) and include both paid and non-paid tactics. Your primary focus will be leading campaigns from start to finish that come in from the various groups and for VMG on the whole.
An ideal candidate will have a background in marketing, and experience with TV and digital/social. Relationship management with strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills is also a must. You will be a self-motivated problem solver who thinks strategically and works well under pressure. Strong presentation skills and ability to lead meetings are a must as you, along with the team you will manage, will be the main point of contact for all campaign needs from representatives both internal and external. Knowledge of production.
Responsibilities:
• Handle precise execution of all projects, with strong attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through
• Work reciprocally with key partners across VICE Media Group throughout the ideation, execution and stewardship process
• Lead internal and external kick off calls to ensure proper set-up for every campaign
• Work with your staff to develop project timelines, reports, meeting agenda & recap notes, and regularly collaborate with various groups throughout the campaign lifecycle
• Manage and maintain positive relationships
• Work with internal teams including PR/communications, editorial, experiential, production, creative, finance and legal to ensure accurate deliverables are received and trafficked as necessary
• R eview detailed and insightful recap decks upon completion of projects
• Actively participate in various meetings (team, inter-departmental), as well as external meetings or presentations, as needed
• Understand and assist in contract creation with third party vendors as well as have a strong handle on final financials around proposals and executions, in addition to internal budget processes
• Lead on B2B efforts and external-facing comms (newsletter creation and company LinkedIn editor)
• Lead on projects as assigned from various LOBs/verticals
• Manage a team across marketing strategy and creative production
• General knowledge of production and production timelines
• Flexibility with work hours, and overnight/weekend travel, as required for project activation
Qualifications
You have these:
• 7-10 years experience in media and marketing
• Experience across TV, digital, social and experiential/event marketing strongly preferred
• Creative thinker and problem-solver with energy and enthusiasm to take projects to completion
• Strong work ethic, ability to meet deadlines and willingness to work closely with many team members throughout various org structures
• Excellent writing, verbal and leadership skills
• Proven capacity to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in keynote, google products (google docs, slides, sheets, gmail)
