Job Description

The Director of Finance is a leadership role managing the finances for one of VICE's biggest global projects. The role will manage an internal finance and accounting teams and communicate with a global team. The role will have dual reporting both into a KSA organization as well as a VICE corporate finance.

VICE Jax is a joint venture between VICE and a large Middle East media partner. VICE Jax's primary directive is to create a leading platform for quality digital Arabic content centered on modern Arab youth culture anchored in Saudi Arabia. The expectation of this role and others connected with VICE Jax is that you will work on VICE JAX project as well as other VICE Media lines of business.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Setting annual budget (and Quarterly Reforecast) targets for business, leading pertinent departmental/business unit heads through the budget process to produce the annual financial budget to be presented to global executive management.
• Building budgeting and forecasting models and further lead the continuous improvements
• Maintain a dynamic monthly financial forecasting model including pipeline analysis and risks/opportunities.
• Support decision making by identifying necessary actionable steps in response to key financial or KPI variances. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to manage ongoing business needs.
• Be a key strategic business partner to the MD and the Heads of Departments
• Partner with accounting in managing monthly and quarterly close processes to ensure accruals and rev rec are accurate.
• Ensure P&L accuracy and variance context is assessed on a timely basis in line with monthly close, operational reviews, and JV partner requests and reviews
• Improve operating teams' understanding of financial statements with consistent, timely, and actionable analysis. Collaborate with the operating leads to provide recommendations on how to improve profitability and operating efficiency.
• Assessing budget to actuals performance by project and clients across agency operations
• Build, constantly improve and leverage financial and non-financial reporting based on reporting calendars
• Lead resource for financial reporting and the key partner for Corporate Finance and Accounting to achieve automation of reporting such as detailed P&Ls, margin focused project reporting, resource utilization, T&E management, and more for the region
• Assist VP of finance with strategic imperatives such as business model redesign, vertical consolidation, restructuring operations, etc, and become a master of the business model and develop into a thought leader on structural improvements that can be made to improve EBITDA
• Ad hoc analysis and projects at request
• QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in finance, accounting, or other business related field
• 7 or more years of combined accounting, finance and strategic analysis experience
• Demonstrated excellence in financial analysis and model building
• Media & entertainment industry experience preferred
• Advanced excel skills
• Function effectively in an especially fast-paced, high growth operating environment, managing time effectively to address high priority items in a timely manner
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate with peers, subordinates and executive management.

• A desire to work on different facets of the finance and accounting operations of the company - this is not a role that will just focus on one area

LOCATION

The Finance Director is located in London to be closer to the VICE financial team. The role is expected to be in the middle east on an occasional basis to work with the team.
