The Role

This is a dual role (Corporate Secretary & Grievance Officer) located in Mumbai, India. You must be a resident of India. The Corporate Secretary & Grievance Officer will report to the Senior Counsel, Commercial, APAC, and will will be responsible for (i) all corporate secretarial functions of the company in India, including overseeing corporate compliance and related activities in the APAC region, and (ii) receding and addressing grievances or complaints regarding VICE content in India.

The Role + You

Company Secretary
• Prepare board meeting minutes for VICE Media India Private Limited, and oversee necessary fillings and reporting for the company.
• Responsible for all secretarial work for VICE Media India Private Limited.
• Responsible for all corporate secretarial and compliance and related activities for the company and its subsidiaries in the APAC region, including compliance with the Companies Act.
• Oversee external secretarial firms in the APAC region and coordinatie with the corporate legal team located at VICE's headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.
• Assist the global legal team in responding to and managing regulatory inquiries.

Grievance Officer
• Manage intake and handling of complaints from the public regarding VICE content, and ensure resolution within statutory timelines.
• Review and apply rating standards to VICE content in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Ensure adherence to VICE's content policies, standards and practices.
• Assist the APAC legal team in responding to and managing regulatory inquiries regarding VICE content.
• Develop and maintain grievance mechanism for the orderly intake and disposition of complaints regarding VICE content.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have these:
• Qualified Corporate Secretary in India with minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience, preferably in the media & publishing industry.
• Legal training or familiarity with Indian regulations regarding media companies, including laws relating to censorship, content, or news publication.
• Fluency in both English and Hindi.
• Ability and willingness to work off hours, including weekends and holidays, in order to support emergency matters.
• Ability to travel (if required) within India (subject to prevailing COVID travel guidelines and restrictions)
• Experience working with a major multinational company is preferred.
• Must be a citizen and resident of India.
