ABOUT THE ROLE
Vice Media Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to acquire and develop new accounts for Vice and i-D in Japan. Business Development activities will focus primarily on production and creative services, but can also include media-based campaigns and include event sponsorships and 360 integrations across digital, social and linear. Client types include Lifestyle, Luxury, Alcohol, CPG, and Technology. Familiarity with digital content and a strong understanding of brand building and storytelling is a must.
Will be working to build solid relationships across their list, building interest and opportunity around the VICE and i-D propositions, and ultimately driving conversion around our key products.
As a member of the business development team, the Business Development Manager will need to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across their client list, and build a positive perception and understanding of VMG products and offerings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Foster relationships at global and domestic brands to understand their content goals, both strategically and from a production perspective, build pitch teams and communicate goals to VMG's regional teams.
• Further VMG's innovation agenda of working in new mediums and technologies.
• Proactively expand a defined account list, pitch new businesses, and respond to RFPs.
• Work in partnership with colleagues to develop media and content marketing solutions, delivered proactively and in response to briefs, to ensure a best-in-class response.
• To be actively engaged in cross-promoting group-wide services among international teams.
• Build relationships with broadcasters and platformers to represent VMG's creative suite of production capabilities and talent network.
• Constantly challenge the status quo to drive maximum value for clients and partners.
• To undertake such other tasks including general administrative duties as may be required.
• To provide exemplary customer service and be an ambassador for the business at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 4-5 years of digital media sales/content experience.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Japanese.
• Senior-level relationships with clients.
• Thorough understanding of production cycle, digital media, and content marketing landscape including video, mobile, social, display, programmatic and experiential.
• Proven sales track record in selling digital and custom content.
• Ability to conceptualize and deliver creative solutions with a focus on storytelling for multiple screens.
• Ability to handle a heavy workload, mediating demands and requests with a strong problem-solving drive.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and confidence in presenting ideas with impact.
