Scope of Assignment x You

VICE Audio is producing several new limited series and a new weekly show with narrative documentary style and a global lens. We are seeking an experienced Associate Producer to assist in reporting and production of our podcasts.

Do you like to pick up the phone and chase information? Keep reading, we want to talk to you. The Associate Producers primary job is to support research, production, and post-production. There will be field opportunities for APs who have shown a solid command of their responsibilities.

We need people who have a proven grasp of the fundamentals of news and tape gathering, the ability to identify and cut selects quickly and with thought and to sniff out a good story and/or character. We are also looking for someone with clear communication and writing skills comfortable managing information and dispersing it to groups of people within the broader organization. APs are called on to manage production logistics. At VICE, the levels of responsibility increase including opportunities to produce stories from start to finish for AP's who excel in these areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have these:
• Background in journalism and/or audio storytelling
• Minimum two years experience producing audio for radio or podcast
• Excellent writing and research skills
• Self-motivated, creative, and organized
• Skilled at identifying strong characters, has an eye for detail, always thinking about story
• Fluent in ProTools and keen ear for working with tape
• Pitching stories, booking interview subjects, and assisting in the production of stories
• Effective APs may qualify for opportunities to produce segments on their own
