Qualifications and Responsibilities

ViacomCBS is looking to add a Sr. Director, Global Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery! Reporting to the VP- Technology Resilience and BC, we need this person to provide strategic direction and leadership for enterprise BCDR across ViacomCBS worldwide. This individual is accountable for communicating, developing, implementing, sustaining, and running both BCDR programs; partnering with business and regional focal points to improve overall readiness and resilience through education and training, BC plan development and DR solution support, hosting table-top exercises, and supporting DR solution testing.

This role will:
• Ensure plans and solutions are in place to keep vital services and capabilities operational.
• Guarantee the appropriate communications to partners are conducted.
• Coordinate BCDR strategies that follow appropriate regulations, align with ISO standards, and are parallel to our organizational strategy and objectives.
• Craft these programs using an inclusive, cooperative, and consensus-building process.

Responsibilities
• Brings leadership and strategy for the BCDR global programs.
• Uses executive presence to foster credibility within the organization.
• Builds, implements, and oversees enterprise-wide BC and DR, including strategies, supporting plan development, and related exercises.
• Directs related budgets (capital and operational), annual program agendas, maturity, and improvement metrics.
• Heads and engages in risk assessments, business impact analyses, and readiness assessments.
• Runs the proficiency and completion of all BC and DR test activities and finds recommendations to improve process and procedures.
• Forges and keeps close partnerships across various teams (IT, InfoSec, HR, Finance, Facilities, Communications, Health & Safety, etc.).
• Handles and implements contracts, along with associated service-level agreements (SLAs), for external service providers, as required.
• Conducts scenario planning, including identifying potential business interruptions, developing safeguards against disruptions, and implementing recovery procedures.
• Observes risk through verifying and categorizing outage exposures that could cause a business disruption and understands insurance and vendor agreements to safeguard against a disaster event.
• Leads all aspects of the execution of BC and DR plans when IT and/or major business operations disruptions occur
• Coordinates the design, execution and continuous improvement of BC and DR programs
• Collaborate with the project leaders to ensure that new and ongoing projects sustain the level of recoverability steady with business objectives.
• Manages the creation of program status communications to senior leadership and external collaborators regarding the status of the BC and DR program, including annual reporting, audit report responses, and customer requests.

Basic Qualifications
• Strong business savvy across multiple subject areas (Sales & Marketing, Finance, etc.) and experience working with team leads.
• Crisis management experience.
• Broad technical insight across multiple technical fields (Server, Middleware, Networks, etc.) with a solid grasp of current technologies.
• Experience applying measurement processes/methods for assessing IR DR efficiency outputs and outcomes or progress toward goals and objectives.

Additional Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in both BC and DR.
• 7+ years of program management/project management experience.
• 5+ years of IT leadership experience (including budget management).
• Profound comprehension of current DR planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses.
• Passion to work across organizational boundaries, to help lead and influence change.
• Capability to command the process across all levels to create a customer-focused organization.
• Ability to build and produce projects using groundbreaking technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in influence and garnering alignment.
• 'Think out of the box' problem solving.
• Dedication to successfully lead a variety of projects of multi-layered complexity, working with staff at all levels of the organization.
• Show ability to think critically and independently and act with integrity.
• Superb oral and written communications skills.
