ViacomCBS advanced advertising group is at the forefront of this reinvention of advertising and is currently looking for key new individuals to join our team!

The Vantage Product Science and Analytics team at ViacomCBS is looking for a qualified Senior Data Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for building, growing and optimizing our data architecture, including database management, data pipeline/ ETL creation and management, and overall data infrastructure management. You will also optimize data flows, maintaining, improving, cleaning, and manipulating data in operational and analytics databases, and working with analytics teams to use databases to build custom analytics for business partners. The Senior Data Engineer will support our data scientists, analysts, and software engineering team to deliver best-in-class analytics tools and data products for ViacomCBS's advanced advertising group!

Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain large scale data structures and pipelines to organize data for new and existing projects and data products.
• Build scalable infrastructure required for optimal ETL/ELT of data from a wide variety of data sources using Python, SQL, and AWS technologies.
• Monitor and optimize data delivery and develop tools for real-time and offline analysis; recommend ways to constantly improve data quality and reliability.
• Participate in the assessment, selection, and integration process of current big data tools and frameworks required to satisfy business needs ensuring that all systems meet business objectives.
• Design, construct and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, project managers, and other partners to integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts to appropriately use data structures.

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a professional Data Engineer (or higher) building scalable applications using Python, SQL and AWS cloud services (including EC2, S3, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Athena, Glue, and ECR/ECS)
• Independent problem - solver with strong critical thinking skills.
• Experience with transforming and integrating of data from multiple, disparate, low-level data sources.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools, including Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, AWS Glue, and AWS Data Pipelines
• Experience designing and deploying automated testing for data pipelines
• Strong Communication skills and experience working with multi-functional teams (from engineering to science to business)
• Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or other computational field.

Additional Qualifications:
• Experience creating dashboards to visualize/maintain our data pipelines (Tableau, Looker, custom)
• Experience creating and orchestrating containerized instances of code (via Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes).
• Experience with Google cloud services, including BigQuery
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouse providers, such as Snowflake
• Thrives in an Agile work environment
• Proven experience managing a small team and partners across multiple groups.
