Role Details:
We are looking for a motivated Android Engineer with a natural inclination to elegantly solve problems. As a member of our mobile engineering team the role will have the opportunity to directly help enhance the video streaming experience of our large and expanding mobile customer base. The engineer will get the chance to tackle complex and interesting problems as part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative team. We are constantly evaluating and adapting the latest and greatest on the Android platforms and there's always something new to learn!
Your Day-to-Day:
• Responsible for the technical development, debugging, and delivery of best- in-class mobile and OTT applications
• Ability to work across a wide range of projects, each with specific functional and feature requirements
• Collaborate closely with product managers, user interface designers, platform engineers, and multiple groups across CBS to define and implement product features
• Build high-level user interfaces using rapid prototyping methodologies
• Develop application frameworks for use across multiple products
• Work with internal technical teams to identify and build platform elements required to support key mobile product features
• Create Technical Requirements Documentation based on product requirements
• Implement upgrades, rebuilds, and additional porting of applications
• Evaluate opportunities to bring new product features and content to mobile users from a technical perspective
• Build strong working relationships with coworkers, customers (internal and external), and company management
• Additional other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
What you bring to the team:
You have -
• Minimum 2 years of Android development experience
• Detailed knowledge of the Android platform and deep familiarity with Android Material Design guidelines
• Proficient in Kotlin, Java, Android Components, UI Frameworks and development tools
• Clear grasp of different architectural design patterns and dependency injection
• Good understanding of device networking, local data caching strategies and multitasking on Android
• Performed as a key contributor to at least one publicly released native Android application
• Deep familiarity with integration of rich media assets, including video, into mobile properties
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team alongside other developers contributing to the same code base library
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work well with other non- technical members of the development team
You might also have -
• BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
• Continuous Build & Test Automation experience
• Experience working on FireTV or Kindle
• Demonstrated ability to build intuitive user interfaces for mobile applications
• Experience working with entertainment, games, news, or sports-related properties
