Senior Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support the general accounting operations with a dynamic team in the CBS Interactive division. The role requires a team player who is eager to learn new skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct month-end close responsibilities such as preparing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting
• Work closely with the FP&A team on month-end accruals and assist with their questions
• Preparation of actual monthly cash flow, upload data to TM1, and prepare cash flow gap analysis
• Take part in monthly and quarterly financial reporting to corporate
• Participate in annual tax package preparations
• Assist with both internal and external audit requests
• Perform flux analysis on both B/S and IS accounts
• Develop and document business processes and accounting procedures
• Back up for other team members and work on special projects as needed

Basic Qualifications:
• Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• In-depth understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Minimum 4+ years of related experience
• Familiar with financial reporting
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Detail oriented, customer focused, and maintain proven work ethic
• Good initiative with the ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines
• Strong MS Excel skills including Vlookups, pivot tables, if functions, etc.

Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with Applix TM1 and Oracle Financials or comparable systems
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus
• Knowledge of cash flow preparation
• Familiarity with business processes, results oriented and proven ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment
