Assist with the preparation of the centralized Statutory Accounting activities of ViacomCBS Networks International (''VCNI'') and supporting the local controllers/FD so comply with statutory accounting/filing requirements.
Key responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation and production of the statutory accounts for Paramount international companies in various countries.
• Assist in the control reviews of statutory accounts per legal entity.
• Coordinate the preparation of statutory audit files within GBS.
• Ensure financial deadlines are met in compliance with Paramount and local legislation
• Provide regular updates to Paramount Corporate Statutory Team on the status of statutory filings
• Prepare annual statutory reconciliations as needed
• Drive process improvement and streamline current practices.
• Support and assist the Paramount Corporate Statutory Team with the statutory outsourcing project
• Assist with ad hoc requirements from Paramount Corporate and/or Budapest management
• Ensure that all relevant key controls are met and functioning properly in accordance with internal policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley rules and regulations.
• Work with external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews/audits by preparing information requests and addressing inquiries.
• Assist Paramount Tax with tax inquiries.
• Assist with ad hoc Paramount and internal management requests.
REQUIREMENTS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
• 1-2 years relevant work experience in a broad range of general/statutory accounting functions
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Fosters teamwork by promoting and maintaining an atmosphere of open communication
• Ability to work well in a matrix environment
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written & listening)
• Ability to be aware of the audience and adapt message and communication style accordingly
• Demonstrated the ability to develop and present communications geared for varied audiences
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, be proactive and follow through
• Implements improved business processes for the business and within functional area
• Prior Big Four experience a plus
• Prior entertainment & media experience a plus
• Experience in HFM, Longview and SAP a strong plus
• Demonstrate strong and up-to-date accounting knowledge (US GAAP/IFRS)
• Good understanding of general accounting principles, concepts and processes to be able to form an opinion on accounting and process matters
• Strive to be recognized by stakeholders as a business partner
• Confident business English language skills both oral and in writing (B1/B2 or above)
• Confident in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Internet Explorer, MS Project, MS SharePoint)
