Overview

This is a junior/entry level role, suitable for candidates wishing to continue their career progression within a leading broadcaster.

What is the role

Working alongside the Channel5 programme planning team, ratings, media planning, broadcast operations, continuity and compliance teams, the Junior Scheduler is responsible for building and executing accurate schedules for transmission.
• Carry out daily checklist to prepare accurate schedules for sending to playout providers.
• Process spot files from sales and send complete schedules to playout providers.
• Input continuity items and information to set deadlines and liaise with continuity producers to ensure all scripting information is accurate and up to date.
• Work with the sponsorship team to update rotations, and accurately process and schedule credits.
• To view and log programmes taking into account transitions, commercial compliance and editorial judgements for all the linear and VOD channels.
• Work with neighbouring departments to ensure weekly and daily deadlines are met.
• To provide cover for other department members in their absence in some areas.
• Assist broadcast operations with the QCing of programmes when required.
• Embrace the 'One ViacomCBS' approach and encourage collaboration and team working
• Be an ambassador for all VCNI channels, internally and externally
• Adopt and promote the ViacomCBS values and support a culture of inclusion

What skills do you need
• Experience within the broadcasting industry desirable.
• Some knowledge/experience of Whats'On or other scheduling systems preferred.
• Good PC skills including Microsoft packages.
• Display initiative and be adaptable to change
• Be able to prioritise optimally and display strong organisational skills
• Excellent team working skills!
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with different levels within the company
• Have a proactive approach to finding creative and diplomatic solutions
• Able to work within tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
• Be prepared to tackle additional responsibility when required
• A keen interest in diversity and inclusion
