What will you be doing?
In this role the you would be managing our established partnerships, creating new opportunities, and forging new relationships for ViacomCBS International Networks UK in emerging digital areas such as 3rd party distribution partnerships, Mobile Network Operators, games, podcasts, e-books, smart speakers, voice, short form video, AR, VR, emerging media devices and hardware.
This will include a focus on established major partner accounts such as Pluto TV and My5 device / distribution partnerships, and as well as the major UK MNOs to ensure the success of established partnerships and to grow the relationships and revenue generating propositions across the full range of products / services offered by the partner accounts. The Director of digital business development will - in collaboration with VP Partner Engagement & Business Development and other stakeholders - pitch, structure and negotiate, and oversee to delivery, distribution partnerships as well as conduct strategic business development activities around key AVOD and SVOD partnerships. This role will have line management responsibilities, managing one direct report.
What are we looking for?
Demonstrated ability to identity business opportunities, analyse and compare potential deal outcomes to facilitate the strongest outcomes when planning new business endeavours
• Track-record of defining and closing, alongside Legal, complex relationship contracts, including broad range of financial terms. This role will work very closely with the Business and Legal team so you must be commercially aware and have a good idea of how deals should be structured and what the contracts look like
• Ideally you will have experience working coming from a subscription or new media background, with a strong focus of improving existing distribution partner relationships
• Experience and understanding of a matrix organization and excellent stakeholder management skills
• Practical experience working closely with partners to bring new products to launch and cultivating strong relationships to drive growth
• Track-record of ensuring the successful implementation of contract and the on-going growth of partner relationships.
• Understanding of the traditional and digital media sector, and an active curiosity for emerging digital segments and with existing relationships with media companies in UK & Ireland
• Current practical commercial experience of / active interest in a variety of digital areas including games, podcasts, smart speakers, short form video, AR, VR, emerging media devices and hardware, social networks, mobile networks
• Practical experience working in creative partnerships, including involvement in product launches and lifecycle management, etc.,
• Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience, and evidence of operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking
• A self-starter, entrepreneurial mentality: must be able to effectively work independently and autonomously
• Goal oriented: focused on setting and exceeding personal goals, and executing against team goals
• Capable of managing and completing several projects and priorities at the same time within a rapidly changing environment
• Highly collaborative and experienced at working in matrixed environment
