Assistant Manager, Special Markets

DESCRIPTION:

Experienced, creative and highly organized sales professional is sought for the Assistant Manager, Special Markets role. This position is responsible for selling both wholly-owned and client publisher titles to key retailers and wholesalers within the Special Markets department. The Assistant Manager will aggressively pursue sales opportunities for a variety of books, both frontlist and backlist. They will also prospect new business in the national retail and wholesale markets, foster relationships with existing account buyers to grow sales, and maximize reach with marketing strategies and promotions. They will also collaborate with some accounts to customize books to best fit their needs. In addition to working with buyers and publishers, the they will also work with supply chain, customer service, and the warehouse to forecast and confirm sales.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Minimum 3 years of experience in book publishing sales
o Bachelor's Degree preferred
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
o Strong attention to detail
o Ability to work well under pressure and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment
o Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
