DESCRIPTION:

Freelance Metadata Entry for Morning and Evening News Material

CBS News Archives transition to fully digital ingest of daily broadcasts has resulted in a large volume of raw material coming in from editors and field crews that needs to be associated with the proper segments and shows. There are now of thousands of files that have not been labeled with the proper Archival information, and users cannot properly search for this content in the Media Asset Management system. It is vital that all broadcasts and sales have access to this material. This position will be responsible for looking at these digital clips, and determining if the footage is associated with correct assignment number. They will need to provide proper descriptions using Archival terms and keywords to for this content. This position can be performed remotely with access to CBS systems, and they will be trained by and will report to the manager of Archives administrations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of current events
• Proficiency in Word processing and data entry programs.
• College Degree Preferred
