Job Description
UMG is seeking an exceptional Paralegal / Legal Administrative Assistant to provide paralegal and administrative support to two litigation attorneys in Business and Legal Affairs.

How you'll CREATE:
• Collect and analyze information related to: (i) industry legal and regulatory developments, (ii) litigation targets and defensive claims, (iii) recent transactions and (iv) industry best practices
• Develop and maintain cloud-based document management system
• Support collection of information for, and preparation of, quarterly litigation report for senior corporate management
• Coordinate, schedule and management periodic legal department-wide training seminars
• Review, analyze and summarize contracts in a variety of areas; familiarity with music industry contracts a plus
• Manage litigation document and royalty holds, as necessary, including monitoring legal matters to determine when holds may be released
• Manage and oversee legal billing procedures
• Research copyright and trademark issues, including registration research and chain of title/ownership issues (familiarity with USPTO and US Copyright Office databases a plus)
• Coordinate company's response to third party subpoenas
• Produce agreements, charts, memoranda, correspondence and other documents in support of litigation activities, including document discovery
• Liaise with IT, office administrative services and other internal personnel to resolve day-to-day issues and handle administrative matters
• Handle expense reimbursements
• Create physical and electronic files for litigation and other legal matters
• Calendaring, rolling calls, meeting preparation, full travel arrangements/domestic & International
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors, other attorneys in the department, and department head

Bring your VIBE:
• BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university
• Prior work experience as a Paralegal, Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, or relevant role, is a plus, but not required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extremely detail-oriented, with an ability to spot and correct errors
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive legal and business matters
• Ability to interact with outside attorneys and executive management
• Exhibits professional demeanor and sound judgment
• Follows up on delegated assignments through completion, with strict adherence to internal and court deadlines
• Self-starter, who takes initiative, is resourceful, and takes ownership of projects
• Solid research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
• Advanced computer experience: Microsoft Word (including tables and redlining), Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
• Willingness and desire to learn; basic interest in career in legal and business affairs or general corporate affairs
• Music industry knowledge a plus; passion for music a requirement
