Job Description
UMG eCommerce is looking for Graphic Designer – Email & HTML to create design assets on behalf of many of the biggest and most iconic artists in the world. This person must be comfortable working within email marketing & design and possess expert knowledge of owned marketing channels (email, onsite etc.) and proficiency in HTML. The role will focus on developing direct to consumer artist and label email campaigns and the candidate should have at least 2 years experience working specifically within email marketing. This person must be able to take initiative, accurately interpret creative briefs as well as internal and client feedback into designs, and articulate creative concepts. Experience with graphic design and production art in the retail and apparel space is a plus. Candidates should have experience within CMS Platforms like WordPress and eCommerce platforms like Shopify.
How You'll Create
• Design & Create Compelling Email Creative & Templates
• Design and build emails and email templates for artist, labels, and the overall UMG business
• Code in HTML and design new personalization/versioning emails to support segmentation strategies
• Work daily with email, copy and design teams to support planned campaigns
• Understand brand guidelines, available assets and develop communications to support both daily & lifecycle emails
• Make recommendations to improve and optimize our communications through better content, coding and personalization
• Craft dynamic, reusable code to support communication personalization via dynamic content
• Bring Your Knowledge of Marketing Creative and the Advertising Space
• Expertise with owned marketing channels (email, on-site etc.) and understanding of paid channels (social, display etc.)
• Consistently deliver designs that meet and exceed both client expectations and internal standards
• Maintain an ongoing and evolving understanding of industry trends and new innovation
• Collaborate with Senior Designer to educate store management team on platform capabilities
• Work On and Collaborate with a Cross-Functional Team
• Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with multiple teams on campaign & product assets realizing design goals, gathering feedback and ensuring timely project delivery
• Support other teams with design requests to help them align with planned email campaigns
• Collaborate with the rest of the creative team to meet goals and deadlines across multiple projects
Bring your vibe:
• Degree in Art, Graphic Design or a comparable field
• 2-4 years online creative development, optimally focused on dynamic, personalized email content
• Exceptional design abilities – combining creative flair with marketing know-how and technical skill
• Strong HTML coding skills, adhering to email & industry best practices for bullet-proof HTML
• Experience in marketing automation tools such as DotDigital and Mailchimp
• Knowledge of email optimization best practices & design standards to optimize across devices required
• Proficiency with Google Studio and other HTML5 creative platforms, at least 1 year experience in HTML5, CSS, jQuery/Bootstrap, and JSON.
• Mobile and responsive banner/ad development and cross browser support experience is a must
• Experience programming with 3D and other frameworks is a plus
• High level of comfort working on tight turnaround times paired with high volume while accepting and integrating client feedback
• Availability to be on-call for select after-hours and weekend jobs
• Ability to multitask and stay organized
• Collaborative attitude (no egos please!) with excellent communication skills
