Job Description

We're collaborating with Disney and Lucasfilm Games on a new story-driven open-world video game set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy. This is a lore we love and want to do justice with a game and story that bring both new and lifelong fans on an immersive and outstanding journey that will stay with them for years.

We're looking for a Game Designer to join our skilled Design team, working on one of the most loved IPs out there. In this role, you'll be primarily focused on systems - creating rich, accessible, and balanced fun for the player. Being a part of the Game Design team at Massive, you will work closely with Programmers, Level Designers and Animators.

This is a permanent position based in Malmö Sweden, with the opportunity to work partially from home according to our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply in English (our company language), and we'll check your application asap!

What you'll do
• Design features and systems, and shepherd them all the way from paper to in-game release quality.
• Collaborate with and within multi-disciplinary groups to bring your designs to life, and guide and support the content creators using your systems.
• Iteratively refine your features and systems through in-engine tweaking, setup, and (data) implementation, using tools you will be co-responsible for improving.
• Be part of executing and evolving the overall gameplay vision, together with the Game Director, Lead Game Designers, and the entire Design team.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

You are enthusiastic about games, game development and creating the best possible player experience through your craft. At Massive, you'll work in a multidisciplinary team with Programmers, Designers, and Animators to name a few. You take responsibility and ownership of driving your Design from idea to implementation. You are comfortable collaborating and communicating in a cross-functional team, by being an efficient communicator. You're also open to feedback and enjoy a creative and innovative environment.

Besides the above we're looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
• Several years of professional experience as a Game Designer
• You have experience in at least one AAA game development cycle
• You have experience shipping a AAA game
• Experience driving key feature development
• Knowledge of an iterative development process and rapid prototyping
