The Job

WarnerMedia seeks a VP, Product Experience for the CN.com Digital-ANIMD department.

Reporting directly to the Head of KYAC Digital and Wizarding World Digital and as a key member of the management team, this is an exciting opportunity for a Product Management / Experience executive with a digital direct-to-consumer background and strong leadership credentials.

The VP, Product Experience will be responsible for ensuring the business creates compelling and engaging content which will ultimately drive eCommerce.

The Daily
• You will manage a talented Product function, owning the ever-evolving digital strategy
• You will be a key contributor to the digital strategy, and lead the digital delivery and be heavily involved in experience design, content management, and the omni-channel experience
• You will manage a talented staff of editorial specialists contributing articles, quizzes and special features to fans via the wizardingworld.com website and Harry Potter Fan Club apps on a frequent cadence
• You will work across the company with collaborative agile delivery teams, user experience researchers, product designers, data analysts and developers to create innovative, digital products
• You will have the customer at the heart of everything you do, championing a clear vision for our digital products
• You'll be elevating existing and delivering new product experiences to a global audience in the 10's of millions

The Work
• Vision & strategy
• Work with the business to develop the overall business strategy
• Responsible for leading the product vision and strategy, defining the direction and growth of the product and maintaining oversight of the WWD product roadmap
• Ensure entire product management function is led by a unified and cohesive vision
• Responsible for driving a data-driven, user centric approach across the product development lifecycle
• Responsible for driving a deep understanding of WWD users and various user segments and cohorts via data collection, product testing and 1st party data led insights
• Responsible for monitoring market and industry trends, and competitor strategy
• Identify and execute on commercial initiatives, seeing them through end-to-end with an eye on the strategy, product execution, operational and reporting considerations
• Prioritise and communicate the product roadmap to the wider business
• Oversee every element of the product from conceptualization to launch and post-launch performance
• Product design & concepting
• Responsible for defining, validating and prioritising the critical features and functionality of the product
• Working closely with the Engineering teams to develop a shared vision of new products across multiple platforms and effectively communicating that vision to stakeholders
• Work cross-functionally with all areas of the business to design and develop products that our users love, and align to our business needs
• Establish methodologies and frameworks for conducting research, concepting and prototyping
• Product development
• Design and implement robust processes to effectively deliver quality products, and create a culture of ownership and innovation
• Build and promote and an agile environment that seeks to maximize learning and minimize resource waste
• Responsible for putting products in the hands of real customers as quickly as possible
• Promote a culture of continuous product discovery, validation, delivery and measurement
• Proactively manage dependencies for inflight product development effort
• Manage and coordinate sprint delivery
• Launch
• Responsible for executing the successful build and launch of the product
• Responsible for developing the delivery strategy and creating a collaborative, dynamic planning process with Engineering & XD
• Post-launch
• Measuring success on results, not simply delivery
• Drive a continued user focus and commitment to continuous improvement, seeking to understand whether our users are happy with our products and services
• Build the Product function
• Develop clear roles and responsibilities for all roles within the product function, including product managers, product and UX designers, project / release managers
• Hire for open roles across functions and build high-functioning product experience team
• Cultivate culture and help architect highly collaborative work model with the wider engineering and XD functions
• Define the op model for holistic product experience function (product + on-site editorial) across UK and US based teams
• Build skills and capabilities, and develop all individuals, within the product function

The Essentials
• 10+ years in product management with a majority in media/entertainment or technology with a focus on consumer-facing digital products and services; experienced team leader responsible for product vision and roadmap for highly visible consumer brands and franchises people
• You are an expert in managing stakeholders, with great communication skills, comfortable dealing with people from all areas of a global business
• You have the energy and focus to execute the product plan in-line with the strategic vision and the leadership gravitas to drive the rest of the organisation with you
• You love digital products and are constantly thinking about ways to innovate and improve the status quo
• You can focus on delivering measurable value for the business, juggling competing priorities and making effective decisions on what delivery teams should be working on
• You are comfortable in fast-paced, ever-evolving Agile environments with an iterative mindset and a flexible attitude to enabling rapid delivery
• You are confident managing teams across product, design and editorial and working with very senior stakeholders, with the ability to influence people at all levels of the organisation
• You have excellent understanding of the product delivery lifecycle and you're able to lead development teams through all phases
• You are outcome-focused and user-focused – you like to understand your users and identify who they are and what they want
• You learn quickly and are comfortable adapting your approach to any situation
• You are familiar enough with agile software development methodologies and best practice to know when and where to apply it
• Digital content/publishing experience a nice-to-have
