Job Description

Turner Sports is seeking an elite, talented and proven digital leader for a senior position driving content and SEO efforts for NCAA Digital.

We're looking for an energetic force who thinks creatively, sets strategy and can coach and lead a team to top results. This role is expected to lead the team daily with excellent news judgment, organization, communication and attention to data and metrics.

Here are the most critical parts of the job description:
• SEO expertise is a requirement and will be a huge part of daily expectations: Being first in SEO, and on top of SEO, equates to audience in both written content, video content and referrals to March Madness Live, BCG, Fanatics and other revenue generating initiatives.
• Content Organization, Creation: Lead content generators, editors and daily 'points' on content development that aligns with the NCAA content strategy and yields the best results in terms of resource vs. reward. Critical to this role is active management of the content plan so producers and editors are fully aware of content coming so they can plan distribution.
• Coaching and performance management: We'll lean on this person's experience as the lead coach for the team in terms of how to frame content, headlines and ideas, and well as the nitty gritty of line editing.

Experience with user data – such as Chartbeat and Omniture - to track performance is a must.

Enthusiasm, risk-taking and collaboration are highly valued, but it's also required you have an understanding of working within parameters of a sports league -- you'll need strong understanding of Turner's relationship with the NCAA.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Content and will have numerous direct reports. This position is a Monday to Friday daytime role, however, it will require some weekend work, extended hours during major championships or breaking news, and some travel. This position can be remote.

Qualifications:
• 10 years of media or digital journalism experience, with emphasis on digital content
• 5 years of specific SEO-related content experience
• Understanding of sports.
• Strong basic editorial skills with extensive knowledge of AP style guide, Experience in working with CMS systems, excellent computer skills with working knowledge of HTML and Photoshop
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams and high pressure live event atmosphere.
• Ability to manage small team and set expectations, goals, priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent organization and proven ability to deliver on content plans.
• Able to handle last-minute or quick-turnaround deadlines for development or in a live publishing environment.
