Job Description
The Job
The Procurement Specialist is a key member of the procurement team and has 3 primary areas of responsibility for GTO: (1) Technology Equipment/Services Procurement, (2) Procurement Data Standards and Maintenance and (3) Process Improvement.
The Daily
Procurement:
• Completing purchase orders, monitoring all open purchase order requests and providing order-tracking details as requested for Technology related equipment and services.
• Obtaining quotes for equipment and services when applicable
• Ensuring all purchase information is accurately and expeditiously captured within the procurement system. This person will ensure prompt communication on all purchases and effectively escalate issues with suppliers and/or supervisors when appropriate.
• Update the Bill of Materials with pertinent order information related to capital purchases.
Procurement Data Standards and Maintenance:
• This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate order and vendor data within the procurement system, and will process requests to update vendor information, such as payment terms, locations, and contacts.
• This position also will ensure that procurement data is adhering to standards and work with the team to revise the standards and the business changes.
Process Improvement:
• Seek, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement in procurement processes.
• This may involve partnering with business analysts to streamline activities for the benefit of the operation.
The Essentials
• 3 - 5 years of technology procurement experience.
• 4-year degree in technology, engineering, finance or equivalent work experience.
