The Job

WarnerMedia seeks a Manager, BI & Growth Analytics for the NBA Digital Research department.

Are you fluent in digital behavioral data? Do you know how to craft a hypothesis? Can you synthesize results into a story? How do you feel about building out dashboards, crafting reports, developing quick analysis, and using BI tools to deliver insights? Does the prospect of designing experiments to test growth initiatives excite you? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we have an opportunity for you. This role will work with a fast-paced team to deliver end-user insights used for developing the next generation of digital products and product strategies. The broader team uses design thinking problem-solving principles, rapid prototyping, and best
practices in innovation to quickly develop and deploy solutions and your role is critical for infusing end-user wants, needs and behavior into the innovation process. You'll also help build out an internal data pipeline and develop ways to leverage insights to shape digital product strategy.

The Daily
• Use digital behavioral data and reports to support business leaders in associated analytics, insights, and performance reporting.
• Leverage empirical and qualitative data to assess feature performance and inform prioritization.
• Translate consumer behaviors and perceptions into actional recommendations and strategies.
• Manage research projects to develop consumer engagement insights to support key business decisions.
• Effectively communicate trends, patterns, and gaps to inform business decision making.
• Fosters a work environment that tolerates failure as a necessary part of the innovation process.
• Supports experiments to test innovation hypotheses. Develops business metrics to validate hypotheses and measure success.
• Strategize, plan, and analyze experiments utilizing proven research methodologies.
• Spearhead and manage insights initiatives with advanced analytics/data science teams focused on identifying new audiences, future growth, and delivering added value to our league partners.
• Mine various data sources (clickstream data, user data, sales data, subscription data etc.) to evaluate performance.
• Create dynamic dashboards using BI Tools (Looker and/or Tableau preferred).
• Use digital analytics tools (Adobe, Amplitude and/or Google Analytics) to evaluate site and app performance.
• Build SQL queries to answer hypotheses.

The Essentials
• Minimum of five years of experience in digital research, analytics, experimentation design, and consumer insights
• Experience performing and leading teams on advanced quantitative analyses
• Experience leveraging creative analytics techniques and output to tell a story to drive business decisions
• Advanced quantitative analysis ability. Experience performing analyses in SQL and/or Tableau.
• Proficient in analyzing data in SQL.
• Experience with summarizing insights from user engagement, consumption, traffic, monetization, and commerce reporting
• Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning drives decisioning. Able to draw conclusions from imperfect information
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative research
• Champions the capabilities and benefits of analytical data assets. Partner effectively across departments and stakeholders
• Solid business acumen, and critical problem-solving ability, with a capacity for strategic thinking
• Experience with sports, media, or entertainment
• Experience with digital consumer products and technology with broad industry and functional experience
• Experience working within a matrixed environment (e.g., product, marketing, advertising sales, business operations, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree
