MXW, part of the Trailer Park Group, is looking for an Art Director for their fast-expanding London office.

Based in Los Angeles, Trailer Park Group is a full-service agency specializing in content creation and entertainment marketing. By combining a storytelling expertise with large-scale production resources, Trailer Park is uniquely positioned to make, market and distribute content for its diverse client portfolio of top entertainment studios and major brands. With content creation at the center, we support our clients with strategy, creative and the latest in digital services. Headquartered in Hollywood, the agency also has offices in London and Mumbai.

MXW brings a suite of services including marketing strategy, branded content and campaigns, and immersive experiential offerings to our many clients. The firm's work for the world's leading studios and streaming platforms comprises IP development and B2B corporate storytelling through to large scale activation ideas and unique consumer experiences.

POSITION SUMMARY

This new position of Art Director will form part of a dedicated team working for the Black-led media platform, Andscape, supporting with the day-to-day creative delivery of inspiring brand projects in the pipeline for 2022/23. Andscape is dedicated to creating, highlighting, and uplifting the diverse stories of Black identity.

MXW has a close relationship with Andscape, one that has grown in scale over the last year as part of a retained service delivering best-in-class creative, to engage both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a unified visual tone of voice.

We are looking for an experienced Art Director who will be hands-on and confident, a dynamic self-starter and a people person. You will be comfortable thinking laterally and conceptually, turning client briefs into standout visuals. We are looking for someone who will bring original ideas and a fresh, intelligent approach to each project. You will also take ownership of your work and will drive it from start to finish, working across print, digital, environmental, interactive, and broadcast.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Creative Concepting (40%)
• Design development of brand concepts for multi-channel projects, including video, print, digital, events and experiential
• Communicate ideas with clarity, with the ability to receive and interpret complex briefs, and present ideas creatively and effectively
• Produce sketches, visual references, storyboards and mock-ups to convey concepts to the MXW design team, and then on to Andscape's designers and producers

Brand Guardianship (30%)
• Be the brand ambassador for Andscape
• Evolve Andscape's existing brand and design system and expand it into new and unexpected places, while staying true to the core voice
• Challenge the design system to keep brand executions surprising
• Develop a motion logo for use across different brand touchpoints
• Deliver visual concepts in the context of defined strategies
• Develop new and unique ways to brand the Andscape's content portfolio

Production (25%)
• Oversee the production of creative outputs and final files e.g., print, AV, digital, events, etc.

Asset Management (5%)
• Work with the Creative Services Director to manage Andscape materials
• Manage creative assets including style & branding guides, concept art, key art, title treatments and unit photographyEnsure adherence to downloading, documenting, filing process & systems, circulation to relevant parties, tracking and security protocols

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Strong understanding of Black cultural moments and current events that can influence ideas and tactics
• 5+ years working within a creative studio, agency or media organisation
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Keynote & PowerPoint, and other benchmark design and AV applications
• Experience in the art direction of large-scale branding efforts, cohesive campaigns, and content marketing
• Track record both as an individual contributor and leader of creative projects.
• A portfolio that demonstrates comprehensive understanding of type, photography, digital, and video
• B2B experience desirable
