The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Manager, Promotions

Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Promotions, they will assist in continuing to elevate and improve our fan experience each season. The Manager, Promotions will be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of promotions, giveaways, event activation and in-game entertainment elements at Rogers Centre.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Assist and help drive the planning and execution of all Blue Jays promotional programming, events, theme days and in-game elements to create a cohesive experience for fans across the ballpark 

  • Work with the Sr. Manager, Promotions and Coordinator, Promotions to develop ideas, order in-stadium giveaways and giveaways for special events and theme days 

  • Oversee the coordination of requests of smaller scale giveaway orders, work with vendors to creatively develop the items and place the orders 

  • Work alongside the Sr. Manager, Promotions and Manager, Marketing activations on the development, creative vision and execution of promotions, theme days and fan activation  

  • Work with Events and Promotions teams to oversee concourse activation for each theme day and promotion  

  • Work collaboratively with Promotions, Events and Game Entertainment to build out activation and net new experiences for new spaces created through the Rogers Centre renovations  

  • Work closely and collaboratively with Events, Promotions and Game Entertainment teams to ensure all promotions and theme days are in line with TBJ brand  

  • Assist with any on-field aspects of game day entertainment, pregame, and in-game elements associated with promotions when required  

  • Ability to understand and contribute to the promotions strategy at a high level, focusing on the bigger picture while bringing creative ideas to the team to consistently improve the fan experience 

  • Work collaboratively and creatively with Sr. Manager, Promotions, Social Media and Digital Marketing teams to increase promotion engagement across all platforms to drive revenue and increase ticket sales 

  • Write collateral and material for promotions where applicable 

  • Work with the Sr. Manager, Promotions on the season promotional plan in order to hit attendance and ticketing revenue. Assist in managing the tracking of all promotion for each home game and giveaways  

  • Lead the annual research into other teams and brands for best practice in sports and live event promotions 

  • Assist the Coordinator, Promotions in the organization of all logistics related to giveaways. Work closely with Stadium Operations to ensure giveaway process is seamless from delivery to distribution 

  • Organize presentation decks of all promotions to assist in the sales and promotion of items year to year 

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating swag items, in-stadium giveaway items and game day promotions with Partnerships and Game Entertainment 

  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a collaborative culture across internal departments and game day teams 

QUALIFICATIONS

The Manager, Promotions must be able to work all 81 home games (evenings, weekends, and holidays) and other Rogers Centre concerts/events as required

  • 3-4 years work experience in Promotions or Marketing  

  • Post-secondary education preferred in Marketing, Events, Communications or Sport Management 

  • Knowledge of the game of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays a necessity 

  • Previous experience with coordinating events and programs an asset 

  • Previous experience working with vendors and coordinating large product orders 

  • Previous experience managing individuals  

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills 

  • Attention to detail, with a critical eye for quality and accuracy an asset 

  • Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments  

  • Experience in customer service an asset 

  • Creative, assertive, confident, and results-oriented 

  • Must be capable to deliver in a fast-paced environment  

  • Must be able to sustain long physical days
