THE TEAM

The Government Affairs, Public Affairs and Policy team represents Live Nation in Washington and across state capitals throughout the country, helping explain our business and the live events industry to policymakers. Whether it's two hours at a packed ampitheater, or an entire weekend of sets at a festival, a live show does more than entertain. It can uplift, inspire and create a memory that lasts a lifetime. We seek to capture and communicate those moments to policymakers while building the coalitions that help produce meaningful results.

The JOB

This leader reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Policy and helps lead engagements with many external parties, especially members of the legislative branch of the federal government (Congress) and Administration, trade associations, consultants and other entities working with/for Live Nation Entertainment, law firms, and advocacy/stakeholder groups. This leader will interact with various individuals and teams internally, and is based in our Washington, DC office.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

Federal engagement
• In collaboration with the SVP of Public Affairs and Policy, responsible for the successful execution of Live Nation's federal policy goals, corporate initiatives, and internal corporate goals
• Develop and maintain a network of contacts at the federal levels and among other public opinion leaders to ensure accounting of Live Nation's interests
• Generate visibility of key industry issues and opportunities seeking favorable business conditions and access
• Responsible for the development (coordination) of briefing materials, relative to the federal policy/legislative jurisdiction
• Develop and maintain general knowledge of legislation pertinent to the business objectives, government policies, and current events

Strategic planning
• Works with senior management, business leaders, and external stakeholders to build robust coalitions
• Drafts memos, educational materials, and presentations detailing the impact of federal policies on the company's business
• Monitor and analyze proposed legislation within scope of authority to determine its effects on the industry, help determine the most appropriate position in coordination with other senior staff and develop and implements strategies to achieve favorable results
• Help educate internal key stakeholders on legislative matters affecting Live Nation's business
• Responsible for assisting in the updates to senior management and key external and internal stakeholders on pending issues and political events, including preparation of briefing materials

PAC management
• Responsible for day-to-day management of the federal PAC. Help increase membership in Live Nation's PAC, determine a PAC contribution strategy, keep PAC members informed of activity, and represent Live Nation at various PAC events.

Stakeholder engagement
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholder groups

TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate degree preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to effectively deliver information, explain, advocate and negotiate positions and issues to a broad spectrum of individuals required
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, with little or no supervision required
• Ideal candidate must be team-oriented, and have a keen attention to detail
• Demonstrated track record of strong federal advocacy and communication skills
• Minimum of 8+ years' of federal government relations experience
