THE TEAM

The Ticketmaster Music division is focused on custom and unique ticketing solutions to better connect artists to their fans and serve the needs of the music touring industry. This team develops and maintains several internal and customer-facing applications, and integrates with other Ticketmaster services and third-party sites and applications to deliver the best value to our clients and fans.

THE JOB

We are looking for an exceptional engineer and leader who has experience building highly scalable services as well as user-friendly applications, has the ability to lead team members and provide technical guidance, and can collaborate with multiple teams, local and distributed. You will have a significant influence on our overall strategy by helping to define and drive system architecture and spearhead the best practices that enable high availability services. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Leading by example - developing and contributing code to solve problems and guiding the technical direction of the product
• Work with product owners, designers, project managers and fellow engineers to deliver features both customer-facing and back end
• Drive best practices adoption through code reviews, testing methodologies, and continuous improvement
• Maintain compliance with PCI, CCPA/GDPR and security standards by responding to audits and evolving requirements from compliance teams
• Define and maintain instrumentation for logging, monitoring, and alerting, to ensure uptime and address performance issues and bugs

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
• Professional hands on software development experience in Java and/or Javascript/Node
• Experience managing a software development team
• Experience owning an application through its entire lifecycle from development, testing, deployment, to ongoing support
• 4+ years of high-volume applications/systems experience
• Experience developing JS-based applications, with ReactJS in particular
• Experience with AWS or other cloud services
• Experience with serverless paradigms such as AWS Lambda/API Gateway
• Experience with containerized deployment (Docker) and Kubernetes
• Experience with e-commerce and processing payments
• Solid database experience with relational and NoSQL data stores
• Familiarity with Redis

YOU (BEHAVIORAL SKILLS)
• Ability to bridge the gap between disparate systems and technologies
• Strong experience working in a team and as an individual
• Experience leading/mentoring other software engineers; leading design reviews and architecture discussions.
• Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral), with experience producing technical and design documentation.
• Commitment to delivering quality product on schedule at a predictable cadence
• An ability and desire to develop with new technologies as well as to delve deep on more legacy products and environments
• Ability to shift focus between multiple projects depending on the current priority
