THE ROLE

The Tax Supervisor will supervise the daily compliance operations of the tax department which includes preparation of the consolidated federal tax return, state and local income/franchise tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, and responding to notices. This person will also assist the Tax Director and other Tax Managers with corporate tax research, planning, and federal and state tax audits.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Prepare and assist with review of federal, state and local corporate income tax returns
• Prepare and assist with review of federal, state and local partnership returns
• Prepare federal and state quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions
• Maintain annual filing log of federal and state income tax filing obligations
• Assist with scheduling the workload of tax compliance team to identify resource needs and ensure filing deadlines are met
• Compilation and analysis of state apportionment data
• Maintain accuracy of state net operating loss schedule
• Respond to tax notices and information document requests (IDRs)
• Responsible for supervision of Tax Analysts
• Mentor, train and develop direct reports
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Accounting degree; CPA preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Seven years of comparable experience in large corporate environment for publicly-traded company, and or public accounting with a preference for Big 4 or large regional firm including previous experience in a supervisory role
• Personal drive to develop self and others
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Corptax
