The Mill Production Supervisor is a senior production position, and a mentoring role within the production department; it is primarily an internal-facing role. This position requires a high level of numeracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and an in-depth understanding of the broader industry and key business drivers. In order to deliver the standard of work The Mill has become renowned for, a Production Supervisor must have a combination of an excellent knowledge of current technology and techniques, a creative eye, high organizational skills, ability to work within and manage a team and an innate understanding of our clients' requirements.

The role requires the skills and experience to manage the operation, culture and efficiency of the production department alongside the HOP. The Production Supervisor must have a close working relationship with the Producers, HOP, Director of Production, and EPs at the Mill. This position requires an in-depth understanding of The Mill's production pipeline in order to maximize resources, manage and execute projects on time and within budget, and ensure that the Mill capitalizes on all client opportunities.

The PS will manage communication and project workflow with our Producers, EPs, and Operations, ensuring effective planning and coordination in the bidding and execution of projects.

The PS will work alongside the Head of Production to foster a collaborative working environment within the Production team. In this position, the PS will provide leadership and mentorship that promotes the company culture. The PS must have an excellent understanding of The Mill's strategic & internal goals and will help communicate these to the wider production team.

Production Team Management (25%)
• Oversee team workload, assist with job assignments, bidding and project vetting.
• Monitor individual performance and conduct appraisals for team members.
• Provide production teams with training and experience to encourage progression and growth to ensure the ''future proofing'' of the Production department.
• Ensure internal goals & key information is filtered appropriately to the production teams.
• As the leader of the production team, the Production Supervisor acts in an advisory role to the more junior members of the team.

Project Management / Delivery (50%)
• Ensure the most effective use of the company's technical, creative and personnel resources to deliver a successful and profitable outcome on all projects.
• Ensure that high quality standards and good working practices are met on all projects.
• Alongside the HOP, continually monitor projects tracking and ensure they are within budget and resource.
• Work to help deliver the correct discount levels and deliver all projects on track financially.
• Oversee client bidding and creative pitches where necessary with the more junior members of the production team.
• Plan and set ballparks, manage negotiations and quotations with key clients.
• There will be an expectation that the PS will produce a number of key, high-profile projects over the year.
• There may be a need to attend shoots to further advise on shooting techniques to achieve required FX.
• Help maintain & broaden existing relationships.
• Encourage producers to understand the importance of director, agency and brand relationships.
• Identify and actively foster Mill creative talent and production teams by pairing the correct talent with creative work.
• Help to research and source new & up and coming directing/creative talent, that we would like to form relationships with at The Mill.
• Monitor the satisfaction of existing clients and ensure that they continue to use The Mill.
• Develop and maintain an 'ear' to the market and disseminate relevant information to the production team and key staff at The Mill.
• Promote the advancement of new Mill offerings both internally and externally (Mill+, Creative technology, Beam, cross-platform content, volume/relationship driven workflow, etc.)
• Must keep abreast of new technology, their application and integration into the working pipeline at The Mill. Must also have a good understanding of new trends and developments in the wider field.

Production Best Practice (25%)
• Maintain weekly and monthly oversight of revenue/freelance/workshare/outsourcing targets.
• Ensure that weekly WIP meetings take place to track the progress of projects vs. Bid / Budget.
• Meet with heads of other Mill departments on a regular basis to share and promote progressive production practices.
• Advise the HOP if specific training initiatives are needed and help structure training plans.
• Manage communication with the HOP & Director of Production regarding goals/ targets of the company to the production staff.
• Ensure that best production practices are being used by team and updated when necessary.
