The Mill is looking for a Design Technical Director, to join us in either our New York or London offices. The Design TD will support the technical aspects of our creative work across the department. Working closely with other designers, VFX artists, developers and engineers to deliver stunning work of the highest standard.

Responsibilities
• Manage development of Design pipeline tools
• Application pipeline tools
• OS tools
• Project-specific tool
• Manage, develop, and refine standardized Design workflows
• Clear and consistent communication with engineering
• Schedule regular Design updates
• Verify compatibility of software
• Facilitate resolutions to technical issues
• Expedite problem solving and track solutions
• Coordinate with R&D to promote and track Design needs
• Manage render farm standardization across sites
• Continually improve integration and collaboration with other departments
• Assist in creating and maintaining asset libraries
• Global Design communication
• Discuss new pipeline standards
• Coordinate with local site's TDs to determine new departmental needs
• Research and test new software, plugins, renderers, and workflows
• Manage and plan global Design direction with software/hardware purchases
• Provide educational workshops and mentor the team to strengthen skills and promote growth
• Write documentation and share knowledge across departments and offices
• Manage purchases of educational resources
