BI Analyst & Reporting Manager (Power BI)

Technicolor Production Services is the division with Technicolor which contain Technicolor's world leading Visual effects and Animation brands such as MPC, Mr X, The Mill, and Mikros.

Reporting to the Global VP Head of Commercial, you'll play a vital role in the development and ongoing support for the Advertising brands business ((MPC) Moving Picture Company and The Mill) utilizing Power BI. You will work across the organization to understand their Business Intelligence and data needs. Critical to this rule will be ensuring they are getting the most value and insights from their data being a key focus been Financial data & Operational key metrics which drive improvements in business performance. You will be expected to develop close relationships with commercial finance and production operations, and key stakeholders to understand the business. You will be required to capture, spec, develop and deliver effective and value-adding reporting & dashboards and be expected to be actively involved in the development of Finance reporting capability, and implementation of new processes and systems, across the group.

This is a highly visible and influential role working closely with Exec Suite level leaders. You will enhance existing and deliver a new suite of advanced Power BI dashboards for Senior and Executive Management within Technicolor Production Services. The successful candidate must be highly skilled in Power BI and a subject matter expert in one or more: Financial Reporting & Analytics, Data Visualization or Report Automation.

You will work with a Power BI Back-end developer and whilst supporting the Advertising Business, you will be part of a wider Technicolor BI Community (currently 10 people)

Responsibilities:

Data
• Translating complex data requirements into specifications for the back-end BI developers.
• Query databases, cleanse, test and align data from disparate sources.
• Ensuring data integrity, accessibility and documentation is upheld across your portfolio.

Reporting & Analytics
• Data mining, statistical analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, predictive modelling.
• Monitoring existing and develop new KPIs and metrics
• Development of new Financial reporting & Operational tracking dashboards across Advertising
• Support in the preparation of financial and analytical dashboards for Group Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews
• Develop reporting, trend analysis, analytical tools and dashboards, to help the business understand the numbers and improve financial performance.

Data Visualisation
• Identifying the business use case(s) and 'telling the story' through data.
• Simplifying analysis using effective Power BI data visualizations and usability features.

Automation
• Ensuring data models, queries and processes are optimized and automated.
• Modernizing legacy Excel reporting into insightful Power BI reports and dashboards
• Designing and producing effective dashboards which promote data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

Experience:
• A highly analytical background within a Business Intelligence, Analytics or Data Team.
• Working with Finance, Sales, or Operations Management data
• Developing visually stunning dashboards in Power BI that provide actionable insights.
• Strong analytical skills: you are data and number hungry and like to understand performance based on financial and non-financial metrics.
• Can turn large raw data sets into meaningful reporting, and able to manage ambiguous data well by applying assumptions (trends etc.)
• Experience in identifying and introducing compelling analysis and insight.
• Clear record of being curious, robust and shrewd. Uses own initiative to explore and share new ideas (e.g. styles of reporting, KPIs etc.)
• Very organized and structured - works well under pressure, with accuracy, attention to detail, and respect for deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, being confident in communicating with both Finance and non-Finance staff at all levels within the business.

Skills:
• Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Query/Pivot, VBA, DAX.
• Proficiency in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, desirable R, Python.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
