We are seeking a Lead Assistant Editor to join our growing team! The Lead Assistant Editor reports to Sandy Salas, Director of Post Production and works closely with the Post Production Supervisor, Post Coordinators, Senior Editor, Assistant Editors, and Media and Tech Lead to refine and enforce workflows, tackle content requests, and support project archive and media management. This person handles all of the shifting priorities of the day flexing between the ongoing daily requests that come through post across all areas of the department. This includes handling all footage transfer post support for projects shot in the US but being outsourced to Global TM location + third-party vendors for offline editing, color, and mix.
This role ensures that our content meets Tastemade brand standards by overseeing and supporting our daily workflow and ongoing best practices. The Lead AE implements project ingest and prep, oversees contingent AE work assignments, ensures that editors are following our best practices and QC specs, addresses notes when editors aren't booked, tracks and supports media management, preps for color and mix, handles final deliveries, internal QC, and also tracks and archives projects.Our Values:

• The Lead Assistant Editor handles project prep and setup for all brand projects.
• Addresses creative and QC notes.
• Preps for online mix and color.
• Prepares & QCs final deliverables.
• Coordinates and implements project archiving across all Tastemade content.
• Handles all extraneous daily requests that come through post production on a daily basis.
• Supports contingent AE project assignment and workflow.
• Troubleshoots and supports our Adobe Productions workflow.
• Supports our remote edit bay workflow.
• Monitors our server storage.
• Supports Senior Editor with legacy content requests for Biz Dev deals.
• Works on the catalog of new and existing legacy content to make more titles available for licensing.
• The role works closely with our Post Manager and our Senior Editor to maintain consistency and best practices across all content types.
• Fields all daily workflow requests and troubleshoots tech errors.
• Tracks and log footage in CATDV.
• Recommends and implements improvements for workflow and best practices.What you'll bring:
• Must be above expert skill level in Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects experience
• Must have basic NLE and computer troubleshooting skills
• Have a strong understanding of video best-practices: file formats, codecs and their proper handling in a post-production workflow, as well as keep up with software updates and new products available to increase workflow efficiency
• The ideal candidate will have experience working in a high volume, deadline-driven environment, with strong written & verbal communication skills and experience coordinating a team of supporting editors and AEs.
• This position also works closely with our Post Media and Technology Lead on media management, system implementation, and tech workflow.
• This candidate should have strong technical and organizational skills with experienced knowledge of the Adobe suite of products, specifically Adobe Productions, Premiere, After Effects, and Media Encoder
• Must be a collaborator with great communication skills
• Project organization has to be a source of pride and not an afterthought
• Knowledge of VidChecker, CrushFTP, and CatDV, a plus.
• Knowledge of Davinci Resolve, a plus.
• Knowledge of ProTools, a plus.
• Knowledge and experience of AVID Media Composer, organization, and workflow setup, a plus.
