• Lead a team of in-house and contract developers supporting the technology underlying Tastemade's large and fast-growing media platform, as well as the company's burgeoning products supporting the creator economy
• Work closely with the Head of Product to create and execute on the product roadmap
• Integrate the technology of ChefsFeed, a company Tastemade acquired in late 2020
• Evaluate technologies and tradeoffs to make and execute on key decisions about streamlining, optimizing, and scaling our technology, taking into consideration cost and performance.
• Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Build quality assurance, security, and data protection processes
• Monitor KPIs and IT budget to assess technological performance
What You'll Bring:
• 8–10+ years of development work at leading technology companies
• Prior experience mentoring and managing other developers
• A degree in computer science or a relevant technical field
• Systems thinking and experience designing and scaling complex technical architectures
• A strong sense of ownership-you will be the ultimate steward of our technology
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Django, and Node.js
• Familiarity with React and/or other frontend frameworks
• Experience building web, mobile, and TV applications
• Knowledge of microservices, DevOps, and managing a high-availability server environment, preferably in AWS with Terraform
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and schema design, including Postgres, Redis, and ElasticSearch
• Ok with being on-call to respond to emergencies should they arise
• Agile/Scrum experience, or a willingness to work within such a framework
• Knowledge of Git and Github workflows
• A strong belief in the importance of the readability and maintainability of a codebase
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A desire to do whatever it takes to meet deadlines and succeed in a highly flexible and fast-paced environment
• Passion for food, travel, and design
