POSITION OVERVIEW

The Producer, Collab Events is charged with designing and producing live events for Sundance Collab, our online community platform for creators around the globe and a digital extension of Sundance Institute artist programs.

Working under the Director, Collab this role will produce events dedicated to supporting our Artist, Labs, and Festival program teams on the Collab platform while managing administrative worksteams. This role will also drive web content strategy work to better curate events, opportunities, and resources for stakeholders engaging with Collab.

This full-time role works remotely and will be required to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings, at key points throughout the year.

Top priorities include, but are not limited to...
• Producing approximately 15-18 events for Sundance Collab a year, including Spotlight events, Advisor Studios, and other events as requested by Institute colleagues.
• Sourcing and booking all speakers and panelists for online events.
• Overseeing all aspects of event creation and production, including developing and managing timelines, collecting key deliverables facilitating the event or providing event support to moderators, and ensuring that participants are prepared for a virtual event.
• Collaborating with Marketing to strategize on promotional needs and outreach for Collab events.
• Collaborating closely with the Director of Collab to explore ideas on topics relevant to artists and the Collab audience.
• Collaborating with the Director of Collab to develop strategies to engage event participants in the larger community.
• Working closely with the Sundance Institute digital Labs and Intensives to create sites on Collab as needed, as well as creating pages on Collab for program teams.
• Serving as the operations lead on certain digital events for artist program teams during the Festival: create the run of show (ROS), prep slides and clips, lead and facilitate the tech check and run tech for the events.
• Curating the weekly opportunities and resources featured on the Collab platform, as well as managing the NEA-sponsored Sustain section, which highlights career-sustaining resources for Collab members.
• Strategizing on what resources and events to feature and how to make those sections more interactive.
• Collaborating with external partners to identify and refine resources for cross-supported artists and creators.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• 3 years of experience curating, designing, and producing online events.
• Experience moderating or facilitating live, online experiences.
• Knowledge of filmmaking and independent storytelling preferred but not required.
• Exceptional project management, partnership, and collaboration skills.
• Strong communication and excellent writing skills.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to obtain successful results.

You will be successful in this role if you…
• Produce up to 18 live online events per fiscal year.
• Produce engaging and meaningful events that are well attended and impactful to our online community.
• Collaborate with the Collab Director to develop and implement accessibility plans for live events.
• Source 5-10 meaningful and useful resources and opportunities to add to the Collab site each week.
