POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of the Institute’s Digital team, the Digital Product Owner will work across a variety of departments, connecting our Marketing, Technology, and Operation team needs to our digital Festival platform. This position is perfect for a product owner who can be both strategic and operational, with experience creating new things as well as digging into the details to bring about digital transformation.

Working closely under the direction of the Director, Digital, the Digital Product Owner plays a key role in helping us grow and expand by facilitating the digital delivery of Sundance Festival digital products, including our mobile app, digital program guide, and digital ticketing. These products play a vital role in facilitating the Festival experience and promoting engagement throughout the year to further the impact of our mission and programs.

This position works full time and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This is a fully remote position that does not require any onsite work duties.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Acting as the primary liaison between our Product Development team and other departments to promote the continued development and scalability of our digital Festival platform.
• Developing a roadmap for the digital Festival platform to align with Institute strategies, including enhancements, bug fixes, and redesigns needed to support scalability, new business opportunities and improved customer experience.
• Managing both the digital Festival and private screening platforms and experience as well as year-round artist and audience engagement
• Coordinating a varied team to ensure alignment in the digital product’s development and direction.
• Working closely with the Institute’s Technology (vendor owner), Marketing Department and Programming teams, representing our audience’s voice.
• Managing digital project workflows across the business to ensure requirements are met, including capture and execution.
• Providing guidance on the future of the Sundance Festival platform through audience research and analysis.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Experience in working across teams and managing a variety of shifting needs.
• 3 plus years of experience and demonstrated success in product management.
• Experience with transforming a highly attended live event into an online space.
• Direct, recent experience participating with the rapid delivery of mobile digital products, ideally in the digital event space with an emphasis in highly attended multi-venue events.
• A natural collaborator with excellent communication skills, equally comfortable talking tech with developers, user experience with designers, copy and positioning with product marketers, numbers with Finance and Marketing, and strategy with executive committees.
• Experience with digital product development best practices including agile, UCD, interface design, lean, A-B testing, and software development and deployment.
• Strong analytic skills and the ability to balance intuition with data.
• Experience managing content-focused products preferred.

• Manage and support a multi-year strategic Digital Product roadmap, including major technology enhancements and platform redesigns
• Support digital Festival platform to promote its usage within the Institute as an online extension of the live annual Festival while providing an excellent customer experience.
• Help digital Festival development remain well tested and forward-leaning into new technologies while redefining new online customer experiences.
