Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Coordinator, Annual Giving supports the administrative functions related to our donor programs, donor communications, and donor engagement for Individual and Institutional Giving. This position plays a key role in sourcing funding to sustain Sundance Institute programs and support the vital work of independent storytellers. Sundance Institute provides the space for these storytellers to create and thrive through the Sundance Institute labs, and showcase their work at the annual Sundance Film Festival to a community of film lovers that ignites the new ideas that transform our culture and global narrative.
Working closely under the direction of the Manager, Annual Giving, the Coordinator will have the opportunity to engage with, support, and help build our community of mission and values aligned donors who share our commitment to cultivating original voices in film and media.
This full-time position is based out of our Park City, Utah office with regular opportunities for remote work. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required at key points throughout the year to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. Additionally, occasional travel to other Institute offices and events may be required.
Top priorities include but are not limited to
• Managing a portfolio of approximately 75+ active entry- and mid-level donors.
• Meeting with donors to solicit renewals and increased contributions.
• Drafting fundraising campaign copy and donor correspondences, including tax acknowledgement letters, membership appeals, and gift renewal letters.
• Partnering with Manager, Annual Giving and Associate Director, Development on audience development and engagement goals for the Institutes membership program.
• Administering donor benefits throughout the year and during the Sundance Film Festival, including event invitations, Festival passes and tickets, and donor crediting and recognition.
• Representing the organization during the Sundance Film Festival and at events throughout the year.
• Serving as a first point of contact for Development inquiries, including managing the departments external email and phone lines.
• Reviewing donor lists for accuracy and executing the departments communication plans.
• Managing the Director of Developments calendar, ensuring the Director has the requisite information necessary ahead of all meetings.
• Coordinating the Director of Developments travel arrangements and submitting credit card and expense reports on the Directors behalf.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years of related work experience in advancement, development, or nonprofit work.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Working knowledge of databases and proficiency in Microsoft and Google Products.
• Experience with prospect research and customer relationship management databases preferred.
