Sr. Test Engineer

Job Description

Summary of Position

The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for leading system verification testing activities and defining test methods and procedures necessary for the verification of the Starz iOS and tvOS applications. This position is responsible for testing multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment and ensuring that the projects are using best practices.

Responsibilities
• Daily testing of streaming applications on the iOS and tvOS applications Platforms.
• Participate in requirements gathering and definition, based on deep product knowledge.
• Create core test plan that encompasses functional, regression, smoke, and automated tests.
• Work closely with the development team on deployments and when testing and logging defects.
• Lead ad hoc and exploratory testing beyond pre-existing test cases and User Stories.
• Generate test cases that provide meaningful test steps, acceptance and expected results based on functional requirements and UI/UX comps.
• Act as a champion for continuous learning and best test engineering practices.
• Continuously discover and explore new trends and implementations.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and work independently.
• Mentor, train and be a SME for all other members on the QA team

Qualifications & Skills
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical discipline or equivalent experience is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of software testing experience with 2 years' experience in iOS/tvOS client applications
• 5+ years' experience creating and executing test cases, use cases and user stories
• 5+ years' experience with testing end-user applications.
• 1 year experience and deep understanding of automation tools such as Appium and XCUITest.
• Media Streaming and DRM Technology experience is a plus.
• Experience with Agile development environments, specifically Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Extremely detail oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to address time sensitive demands on a continuous basis.
