Job Description

Summary of Position

Use AWS, Aspera and similar systems to facilitate the transfer, organization, and ingest of picture, audio, text, and metadata files. Build assets in cloud based and on-premises media management systems. Manage content, prepare and upload broadcast assets into systems and troubleshooting the internal transcode processes and workflows.
• Manage processing of file based assets.

• Work with materials coordinators to insure proper check in of file based assets.

• Update received materials status in IBMS/POA.

• Transfer received file based assets from Aspera to materials and QC storage on a daily basis.

• Generate XMLs and prepare file based assets for file ingest. Create IBMS QC requests as needed and initiate file ingest of assets.

• Work with Quality Control and Media Operations to resolve and troubleshoot processing errors. (MF3/IBMS)

• Extract repository files for special projects, version fixes, or version swaps; Perform minor fixes to content when need. (closed captions, audio sync, etc)

• Manage incoming content and link transcode profiles to appropriately formatted materials.

• Analyze and verify file content metadata; Troubleshoot content metadata issues when necessary.

• Ensure internal databases accurately reflect materials status.

• Transcode Originals materials to broadcast specific formats.

Responsibilities
• Assist QC department in preparing and editing materials for special projects. (rebrand, logo edits, LAS conforms, etc), and perform simple spot check QC evaluations on low priority content when time allows.

• Track the progress of files related to special projects. Monitor related services in MF3 and IBMS.

• Work with post production in coordinating video and audio edits when necessary.

• Perform degauss process to delete expired media from system.

• Track and report status of QC rejections and redeliveries for international content.

• Update international trackers . Provide support to Materials, Closed Captioning and Quality Control on the status of international ingest processing.

• Organize and route digital materials for post-production conforming process.

• Media management in cloud storage.

• Train staff and contractors on file ingest process when necessary.

• Attend interdepartmental meetings to provide updates on ingest system status. Aid in the configuration of ingest profiles and make recommendations for system enhancements

Experience & Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Media, Editing, Production or related

• 3-5 years' experience in media asset management, media operation or quality control

• Video editing experience

• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills

• Experience working with codecs and containers such as Prores, MPEG2, AVC, .mov, .h264, .mxf

Nice to Haves
• Previous experience with Avid, Premiere, Media Encoder, Telestream Episode, Mac Captions, MF3, a plus
