Sr. Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

Summary of Position:

This position will be responsible for the development of Enterprise level reporting and analytical solutions at Starz. This position includes development, enhancements, maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementations that utilize our corporate business intelligence tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop customer relationships with internal customers and gather requirements towards their analytical and reporting objectives

• Translate business requests into detailed business requirements and specifications to aid with prototyping and development

• Develop reporting framework/data sources with performant SQL statements to access data from multiple database sources (ex. MS SQL Server, Oracle, AWS RDS, AWS MySQL, Snowflake, etc)

• Develop and maintain reports, report schedules, dashboards, publishing, and user administration

• Demonstrate a full understanding of the Fact/Dimension data warehouse design model, including star and snowflake design methods

• Research data issues associated with reports and source data accuracy

• Diagnose problems and troubleshoot production issues

• Quickly analyze complex data patterns in order to establish technical solutions to resolve data issues

• Move work tickets through the development cycle

• Provide end user training and education programs to on-board and support power users for Business Intelligence tools

• Adhere to standards and processes to ensure the successful operational support required to ensure daily reporting information is timely and accurate, so that day-day-business decisions can be made by the Executive team

• Ad hoc analytics projects involving (but not limited to) data visualization, manipulation of large data sets, usage of statistical modeling to derive insights, and hypothesis testing

• Seek out new users within the company who could benefit from BI reporting

Experience & Skills:
• Expert level with Tableau required

• Experience with Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and/or Athena required

• Expert level with IBM Cognos required

• Microsoft SQL Server experience required

• Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project software applications

• Strong SQL skills required

• Strong skills in data analysis and data modeling required

• Experience with GA360 desired
