Sr. Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

Summary of Position

This position will be responsible for the development of Enterprise level and Tableau report developing as well as analytical solutions at Starz. This position includes development, enhancements, maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementations that utilize our corporate business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities
• Develop customer relationships with internal customers and gather requirements towards their analytical and reporting objectives

• Translate business requests into detailed business requirements and specifications to aid with prototyping and development

• Develop reporting data sources with performant SQL statements to access data from multiple database sources (ex. MS SQL Server, Oracle, AWS RDS, AWS MySQL, Snowflake, etc.)

• Develop and maintain reports, report schedules, dashboards, publishing, and user administration

• Demonstrate a full understanding of the Fact/Dimension data warehouse design model, including star and snowflake design methods

• Research data issues associated with reports and source data accuracy

• Diagnose problems and troubleshoot production issues

• Quickly analyze complex data patterns in order to establish technical solutions to resolve data issues

• Move work tickets through the development cycle

• Provide end user training and education programs to on-board and support power users for Business Intelligence tools

• Adhere to standards and processes to ensure the successful operational support required to ensure daily reporting information is timely and accurate, so that day-day-business decisions can be made by the Executive team

• Ad hoc analytics projects involving (but not limited to) data visualization, manipulation of large data sets, usage of statistical modeling to derive insights, and hypothesis testing

• Attention to detail in a dynamic work environment balancing multiple projects and work activities

• Comfortable working with a variety of teams and be able to communicate succinctly with technical and non-technical departments

• Seek out new users within the company who could benefit from Tableau reporting

Qualifications & Skills
• Expert level with Tableau required

• Expert level with Tableau report developing

• Tableau Certified preferred

• Strong SQL skills required

• Strong skills in data analysis and data modeling required

• Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred

• Experience with Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and/or Athena preferred

• Some experience with IBM Cognos preferred

• Must be able to think critically to deliver existing performance analysis

• Strong communication, organization, and documentation

• Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project software applications
