Job Description
Summary of PositionWe're looking for highly motivated and talented hands-on Site Reliability Engineer. As a member of the team, the #1 job is to ensure excellent customer experiences. We obsess over building high availability, fault tolerant cloud-based systems and services. The Site Reliability Engineer is expected to work cross-functionally with a variety of teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
• Demonstrate a desire to apply the SRE principles to tooling, dashboards, alerts, and response to identify and address reliability risks.
• Can apply the SRE principle of eliminating toil to reduce operational tasks; can identify repetitive work, make suggestions for automation, and executes on assigned work. Makes suggestions or recommendations along the way improve automatic issue identification and routing.
• Participates in predictive scaling exercises to ensure system capacity new content launches.
• Participates in issue resolution and root cause identification with the various data infrastructure teams and partners.
• Participates in deep dives of technology issues; partners with Software Engineering and Cloud Engineers across the organization to help deliver solutions.
• Apply self-learning towards the opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, tooling, and visibility of both our internal and external customers.
Qualifications & Skills
• Exercise and demonstrate root cause identification, triage, and mitigation
• Apply programming concepts from languages such as Java, Python, C# to contribute to the automation of operational tasks
• Experience with log aggregation tools such as Splunk, Sumo Logic, Logstash
• Experience implementing Application Monitoring tools such as Splunk APM, Datadog, New Relic
• Understands large-scale complex systems from a reliability perspective (Multi-region - Active / Active)
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication and documentation skills.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and improvement in a fast-paced dynamic organization
• Awareness of latest SRE/software trends including ChatOps, IaC, and GitOps
• Minimum 3 years experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS).
• Minimum 3 years of one or more container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Elastic Beanstalk, Kubernetes, etc)
• Minimum 2 years understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Compensation
$95,400 - $149,300
