Summary of Position

The Metadata Specialist reports to the Director of Metadata and oversees content metadata management, aggregation, and production to support downstream Programming and Distribution teams. The Specialist will update program metadata within internal content management systems (including in-territory maturity ratings registration) to ensure timely distribution and that all STARZ, Lionsgate+ and affiliate platforms, precisely display descriptive metadata.

Responsibilities
• Manage Metadata Change Tracker spreadsheet, updating as changes or additions are made to program metadata related to MPAA ratings, advisories, synopses, title brief/sort, categories, et. al.

• Aggregates content metadata from internal and external content providers and localization vendors and maintains timely and accurate entries in Catalog.

• Assist in screening Original and acquired content and assigning TV ratings and content advisories and Manage submissions for Starz Originals and studio acquired first run series for international ratings review (BBFC and FSK).

• Manages ratings equivalency and ensures latest Movielabs ratings specifications are implemented into Catalog and communicated to relevant teams.

• Mitigate operational issues such as metadata updates and re-encode requests.

• Coordinate metadata updates and processes according to new internal and partner requirements, such as assigning newly developed advisories and creating sub-categories.

• Communicate linear scheduling changes to Gracenote and other guides services through Change Memos.

• Executes PO and invoice tracking and processes including submitting invoicing to Starz AP and addressing AP inquiries.

• Partner with relevant internal teams to draft and maintain localization style guides and best practices documentation.

• Incorporates industry best practices into our localization, translation and metadata practices and identifies challenges and inefficiencies in workflow and systems, working with upper management to find pathways to improvement.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Film and/or Video Production or similar discipline.

• Minimum of two years experience in film/television/internet distribution, cable television and/or broadcast satellite services with in-depth knowledge of industry metadata standards and schemas and content ratings and compliance standards.

• Demonstrated understanding of broadcast compliance, and descriptive metadata aggregation processes.

• Knowledge of industry standard dubbing, localization, subtitling, and editing tools.

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment tracking multiple projects in various stages

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to influence and partner with internal and external teams to deliver tactical and strategic solutions.

• Ability to work through conflicts to negotiate win/win solutions and project a positive image of the organization.

• Self-starter with excellent verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.

• Outstanding customer service demeanor and attitude.

• Ability to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural environment.

• Fluency in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese a plus.

• Knowledgeable in NLE software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, AVID) and all Mac and Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint software applications a plus.
