Job Description

Summary of Position

The Legal Assistant will provide legal administrative support for the head of the television legal affairs department and general support to other members within the department.

Responsibilities
• Screen incoming calls and correspondence

• Manage calendars including the coordination of internal and external meetings and conference/WebEx calls

• Process and reconcile expense reports and invoices

• Maintain legal filing systems and digital file database

• Handle word processing and data entry

• Drafting, proofreading and redlining legal agreements

• Tracking agreements and following up for signature

• Circulate signed agreements to internal distribution and outside reps and attorneys

• Maintain status reports

• Schedule travel

• Maintain up to date industry contacts

• Backup support for other legal assistant(s)

• Manage office supplies for direct reports

• Additional duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications & Skills
• BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent work experience

• Minimum of four years' experience in legal office administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Outstanding communication (both written and verbal) and professional phone demeanor

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (incl. Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Outlook, Adobe Acrobat DC, DocuSign, SAP Concur, and television production computer applications

• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects

• Organizational skills to establish priorities and coordinate work activities

• Ability to handle confidential details and perform, monitor, and complete administrative projects and functions

• Capacity to multi-task and exercise initiative and strong decision-making skills

• Maintain internal and external communication and workflow

• Exercise independent problem-solving techniques to resolve administrative problems

Nice to Haves
• Knowledge of and interest in media industry and television production preferred
