Finance Manager

Job Description

Summary of Position:

Starz Networks is looking for a finance manager to join the corporate FP&A team in Englewood, Colorado. In this role, you will manage a team responsible for working with various operational units throughout the company to assist in strategic business planning and monitoring financial results. Key areas of focus include revenue and sales, programming strategy, internal corporate reporting and database administration. Successful candidates will have exceptional finance/accounting skills, knowledge of the entertainment industry and solid business judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage team to prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned business units focusing on both P&L and cash flow forecasting

• Assist in strategic business planning and identifying key areas for growth opportunities

• Review monthly revenue/subscriber estimates, and maintain necessary documentation for auditors

• Coordinate internal reporting presentations including detailed review for accuracy, variance explanations, formatting consistency and managing to tight deadlines

• Finance database administration, including potential implementation of new finance software

• Assist in monthly accounting close by preparing variance explanations and identifying potential errors

• Provide backup for treasury manager

Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

• 5-10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience

• Strong understanding of accrual based GAAP accounting

• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and decision making

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including financial modeling in Excel

• Proficient knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Basic understanding of financial software tools and database administration

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in the entertainment industry

• Working knowledge of SAP and BPC is a plus

• Supervisory experience strongly preferred

• Prior experience in treasury
