Junior Systems Administrator

Job Description

At SPIN VFX, the Systems team is responsible for supporting over 250 artists and production staff working on award-winning film and TV visual effects. The Junior Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting the IT infrastructure and desktops in our Atlanta, GA studio.

Key Requirements of the Role:

• Providing end-user support, resolving technical issues and providing technical assistance for all operating systems and applications
• Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the
• impact of issues
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
• Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
• Assist in maintaining our digital security policies, internally and externally

Must Have:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
• A positive attitude, with an interest in continuous learning
• A team-centric work ethic and proactive problem-solving skills
• A sense of urgency and desire to help others
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Experience with Linux/Windows environments, sharing data between platforms and managing permissions
• Experience with AD environment and Windows 10 workstations as domain members

Nice to Have:

• Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience with virtualization
• Experience with network hardware
• Mac OS and Windows application deployment and integration
