ABOUT SPAFAX

Spafax works primarily with the airline industry specifically in the inflight entertainment and media sector. Clients include large airlines such as Delta, American Airlines, Jet Blue, Alaska, Air Canada, British Airways, Lufthansa , Qatar Airways and many more.

The Hub is the Spafax technical (content post-production) facility based in Hollywood, Ca. supplying all technical services relating to the provision of content to our airlines (and their suppliers). It also supplies inflight technical services for several major Hollywood studios and global distributors.

PURPOSE

This is a new position leading the current management team, people and performance of The Hub, and reports into the CTO based at Spafax HQ in London, UK. The role encompasses managing the profitability and processes, liaising with clients, and developing the Hub business into additional content clients and airlines.

We are currently in the middle of 2 technical transformation projects and the holder of this role will, along with the CTO, lead the successful implementation of this and any futuretechnical innovations into both the Hub and the wider Spafax business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Management

Leading The Hub in delivering a global 24/7 digital content supply chain.

Manage and motivate the team to deliver an excellent, efficient and profitable service to our clients and colleagues.

Manage productivity - set targets for the business and monitor performance

Maintain oversight of day-to-day deliverables addressing systematic issues should they develop – and trouble-shooting and problem-solving where required

Communication

Build good working relationships with other Spafax departments - eg the Senior Account Directors responsible for the airline accounts globally, and in particular the Operational Services team in US and UK, and the technical/software development team based in London

Build good working relationships with The Hub’s studio clients, airlines and the OEMs, acting as an ambassador for the Hub in the IFE industry and beyond.

Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and trade shows, and develop a profile in the industry.

Update the company’s executives and board of directors on organizational finances, operations, and progress toward goals

Stay abreast of industry trends in IFE, Content and Tech in order to advise the business and future-proof our offer

Business Development

Build long term strategic plan for business development, and monitor progress.

Commercial

Understand the P&L, ensure information is being reported into the Finance team (and in turn into WPP) and devise ideas to improve our revenue and margin as technologies and suppliers evolve

Work with the Finance and HR departments based in Costa Mesa Ca.

The person

Strong leader able to delivery overall company objectives as well as commanding respect of senior staff members / motivating all staff whilst delivering a happy and harmonious working environment

Diplomatic, communicative, with a proven track record in both delivering profitability and managing change

Background could be content management, technical, digital, inflight entertainment

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills

Problem solver/Analytical thinker

Available to travel domestically/internationally as required
