Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is a Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) company.
The Technical Product Manager is a self-starter who can ambitiously lead and manage a diverse list of duties within the evolving digital landscape. The Technical Product Manager manages the development and operations of software development projects focused on entertainment services and takes part in the product development of the Core Services across products, ensuring goals and objectives of each delivery is accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget requirements. This role will be responsible for overseeing production and project management of entertainment products covering both front end and back-end development. The Product Manager will report to the Director of New Media Technology.
Responsibilities
• Product ownership throughout development lifecycle as the main point of contact for product questions, issues, and feedback
• Write stories and acceptance criteria, that bring your product strategy to life, collaborating with: Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, and UX/UI
• Work with the executive management team to understand commitments and resource requirements to ensure achievement of vision
• Initiate, create and track all production processes (concept, product documentation, art, design, development, QA) related to the product
• Coordination of third-party consulting firm's resources
• Ensure timely delivery of milestones while safeguarding quality of work in accordance with pre-defined project schedule
• Work with QA to triage service issues and drive updates to the service
• Contribute to improving the quality of our developments, the productivity of our teams and the efficiency of our processes.
• Assist in customer service in validating issues and tracking solutions of your product(s)
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience producing applications in the entertainment, video streaming, game, or relevant software development space
• Excellent product judgment: You have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgments based on tradeoffs of different solutions, complex problems, various stakeholders, and many constraints. You have an in-depth understanding of what makes a user experience good or bad
• Ability to work with others: You have excellent interpersonal skills. You're a good listener and a great storyteller when describing your product
• Strong project management skills: Fluent with Agile methodology and associated tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello, etc) and not afraid to use em!
• Experience managing remote resources/teams in different time zones
• Excellent critical analysis skills to diagnose problems and provide consistent guidance on different areas: design, experience, organization, business
• Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in quality assurance/control testing
• Prior experience in automotive application development, ideally in entertainment preferred, but not required
